Philips

Established in Eindhoven, Holland in 1891 by young engineer Gerard Philips and joined shortly after by his brother, the company started by making light bulbs. Gradually they expanded into other electrical products and introduced their first shaver in 1939.

Today the company is a world leader in lighting, flat screen TVs, grooming products, portable entertainment and oral healthcare. Philips employs over 130,000 people in 60 countries.
