Pulsar
Named after the core of collapsed stars that send out a regular pulse of radio waves, Pulsar launched the world's first electronic digital watch in New York in 1972, a product that became a symbol of space age technology.
The company was taken over by Seiko Corporation in 1980 but continued to develop new products with a difference, including the world's first calculator and all-quartz watches.
